and more . . .
Few dogs in their natural environment seek a day at the beauty shop.
Fido does not in his own mind block out a section of time, choose a shampoo with a
special fragrance, get a manicure and a pedicure, have his private area cleaned and
shaved, wash his ears and pull out the hair, evict his resident pets (fleas and or ticks),
give himself a haircut or maybe just a shave, style and dry and then
put on a tie.
This is a a humanly ordained experience and because we desire our beloved pets to dwell
with us pleasantly (they need to smell and feel good to us!), we at Googenhymers ask to
be allowed to give them enough time to go through the necessary process with the
smallest amount of discomfort and stress possible.
Please consider the following requirements for Fido:
1. Standing and waiting patiently while unknown people with frightening objects do
strange things to all parts of his body!
2. Being patient and kind while being asked to go for a fragrant, non-playful and
unwanted splash and scrub in the tub (we'll supply the massage).
3. Standing for a blast of warm air to make the hair dry and stand up just right for that . . .
4. Special haircut!!! (This is also a humanly ordained invention!)
5. Oh yes - the manicure, pedicure and special parts thingy. We need time to do this
quietly and patiently so NOBODY gets hurt!
If our pets have not received regular daily brushing between visits -
KINDNESS SAYS . . .
we need to give them more than an hour to remove the accumulation of a dogs life
(dirt, mats, fleas and who knows what else!) with as little pain (yes it can be painful!) as possible.
REAL KINDNESS . . .
asks for a minimum of two hours for a bath and brush out and
four or more hours for a full grooming appointment.
Kindness allows for a sip of water and a quiet time out between the steps to beauty while
Fido sorts it all out.

. . . Thank you from Googenhymers
